AccuFund Receives Five Star Review

AccuFund-softwareCPA Practice Advisors recently rated AccuFund as a five star nonprofit accounting solution.

Named the “Best Fit” for mid-sized nonprofit organizations and government entities, AccuFund Accounting Suite received high marks for scalability, strong budget management capabilities, affordability, extensive module selection, and excellent dashboards/reporting capability.

AccuFund is available in two versions – the typical desktop version and the cloud-based SaaS version. Designed for Windows users, AccuFund is a great fit for nonprofit organizations that have outgrown traditional, straight off-the-shelf software. Its straight-forward functionality allows users to navigate throughout the system with ease. The system can be accessed via a standard toolbar with icons relevant to the module of choice. Data lookup functions are available throughout the system, and tool tips are available for each data entry field.

The core accounting system includes:

  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Financial Report Writer
  • Accounts Payable (A/P)
  • Cash Receipting
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • System and User Security
  • Forms Designer
  • Data Imports and Exports
  • Document Imaging and Scanning

Additional modules are also available. These include:

  • Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  • Allocations and Fixed Assets
  • Payroll
  • Purchasing/Inventory
  • Requisition Management
  • Loan Tracking

Available in standard and professional versions, AccuFund can help nonprofits address their current needs while at the same time enabling them to plan for the future.

Exceptional Fund Accounting Capabilities

AccuFund offers nonprofit organizations a financial reporting and fund accounting tool to meet their individual and unique needs. The flexible account structure allows for customization, and the system seamlessly handles multiple transaction types (including actual and encumbrance entries). The optional Budget Development module integrates with the General Ledger and handles budget projection creation. Users can create budgets at any level and are able to view prior budgets whenever needed.

Multiple budget types are also available, including annual, grant, project, and capital expense budgets. The module allows users to customize the formatting and reporting options, ensuring that the financial reports reflect the requirements of the organization and its funders. The separate CRM module connects with AccuFund to report on donor activity and communications, and the optional Grant Management module keeps track of every part of the grant cycle.

The General Ledger handles year-end closing with ease, and the built in audit trail ensures that organizations are “audit ready” by tracking each and every transaction entered into the system. Users can email invoices to vendors and donors, as well as electronically pay bills in both the AP and PR modules. Nonprofit employees can also enter time sheet data, view previous pay stubs, and edit tax information within the system.

While the desktop version is strictly limited to the office, the SaaS version of AccuFund allows users to access the system from wherever they go, ensuring that the information they need is always at their fingertips.

Superior Reporting Capabilities

The Report Writer allows users to create in-depth reports with ease. The reports and forms are fully customizable to meet each organization’s needs, and users can create nonprofit-specific reports (such as FASB or GASB). AccuFund also contains a number of standard reports that users can quickly process, customize and save for future use. All reports can be viewed on-screen, saved as a PDF, printed, emailed to selected recipients, exported to Excel, or saved as an HTML file.

Outstanding Service Features

One of AccuFund’s highly-rated qualities is its exceptional help and support features. Not only is the software user-friendly, but users can troubleshoot any problems they run into right away. The Help feature can be found anywhere in the program, and training modules are available for users who wish for further training and explanation. Toll-free support is always available, and users can always email support if they run into an issue.

Overall, AccuFund is an excellent system for nonprofit organizations looking for more from their fund accounting solution. To read the full review, click here.
